Right click the Start, button and select Explore and/or Explore All Users. Re-arrange your existing shortcuts and consolidate them into fewer folders so they do fit.

You need to expand Start Menu, Programs. The sub folders of your start menu will either be listed under your user profile (Documents and Settings\<username>\Start Menu\Programs) or under Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs.

Go to the Control Panel/Folder Options, and on the View tab, set the options
so you can see hidden and system files. Specifically:

Enable (check) "Display the contents of system folders"
Enable (check) "Show hidden files and folders"
Disable (uncheck): "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)"

I also recommend that you disable (uncheck) "hide extensions for known file
types".

Hi Gary,
I suggest you use the option to scroll all programs in one column.
Rightclick Start
Properties
Start menu tap
Customize
Advanced tap
In the start menu window check the "Scroll programs" checkbox.
Click OK\Apply\OK
Rgrds,
