I have installed new programs to my Windows Xp Home Edition, but they do not
show up in the
All programs list when I click start and ALL PROGRAMS. They do show up in the
Add and Remove .I did get a notice that new programs were installed .How
does one get to have it listed in the program list?
Thanks for any help on this .

If the app did not create a shortcut to the program anywhere, you can
rightclick the ecxe file that starts it, and make one. In any case, a
shortcut can be dragged and dropped onto the start menu, in any folder you
want, including a new one you might create for yourself.

start/run, type %USERPROFILE%

You will find the Start Menu folder, and 'Programs'

I was not trying to create a shortcut , I wanted the programs listed in the
page that shows all the programs such as Accesories, Outlook,Microsoft ,
Internet Explorer etc. This winsddow opens after I click start in the task
bar and then go to allprograms and the screen fills in with the list of ALL
the programs I have on the computer. This is where I am trying to get the new
programs listed . Thanks for any help on this . Moe103

Well, that's what those "listings" are, shortcuts. If you had followed the
advice given, I believe you would have the listing you desired.

Well it sems that the resolution was set too low and when I set it up , the
font sizes became smaller and I was able to see ALL the program listed .
Thanks everyone for the help.
