All Day Events in Daily Calendar View - Outlook 2007

I have too many all day events in my daily calendar view, it is taking up 80%
of my viewable space. I would like to minimize the viewable all day events
and scroll to the hidden ones, to enable me to see more than 2 hours on my
calendar. Is there a setting that I can make that will only show 3 or 5 all
day events and then scroll to see the hidden ones?

Our organization is migrating from Oracle collaboration suite to Exchange
calendars. We have been using the "day event" and "Daily Note" fields to as
an In/Out board. When these are imported into Exchange/Outlook they become
day events. As mentioned above, when there are lots of day events in a Day
or week view, there is not much room left for the schedule. My questions are:

1. Has anyone figured out how to modify the day event field to fit in a
fixed space.

2. What other exchange features could be used as an in/out board. A place
where when a user is looking at their calendar, they can see at a glance who
is out of the office.

Thanks!
