Aligning Text In Word

I have downloaded a book from the Internet which is in text format. I opened
in Word 2007, but the word align is way off. Sentences are broken up into
more than one line. I would like to format each paragraph so that it is
easier to read. I am not sure how to go about it. I have been doing line by
line and getting rid of spaces (sometimes a whole page) from between the
words. Is there an easier way to accomplish this project?

I went to the link and followed it. It made not correctioon on the document.
I cut and pasted one section and it did nothing to change that. The problem
may be with me. I am not sure but I'm doing each line manually. The book is
over 1,000 pages. If you have any other suggestions, I will be more than

If you used the AutoFormat method described in the article and it didn't correct
anything, then use the Find/Replace method instead.

First display the nonprinting characters by clicking the ¶ button, and look at
the character at the end of each line. If it is a ¶ symbol, then you must
replace paragraph marks (using the ^p code) instead of replacing line breaks
(using the ^l code) with these modifications to the instructions:

- In Step 2 of the "First Pass" part of the procedure, enter ^p^p instead of
^l^l, and in Step 3 enter $$ instead of ^p. Then click the Replace All button.

- In Step 1 the "Second Pass" part of the procedure, enter ^p instead of ^l.
Then do Steps 2 and 3.

- In this case, you need one more pass. In the "Find what" box, enter $$. In the
"Replace with" box, enter ^p. Then click the Replace All button.

This is strange. I closed the document and opened back up again and it is
all fixed. I have never had that happened before so I'm all straight. Thank
