I know this is elementary, but:

How do you align elements on a slide?

Check out the Draw menu. It is on the draw toolbar which is usually at the
very bottom left part of your PowerPoint screen. You can align objects to
each other or to the slide. To use the options, select the objects you want
to align, then access the menu item.
