Hi,
I am using excel 2003. When my macro opens a different
workbook I get the warning...
This application is about to initialize Active x
controls...
I have tried useing application.displayalerts=false but
it doesn't stop the warning.
Is there a way to not have the warning display?

thanks,
peter

This is a security alert outside of Excel, probably a windows security
warning, much like the ones that scare the life out of me in IE after
upgrading to XPSP2.

As these are built-in to the operating system and designed to warn of
possible attack, I doubt there is a way to switch them off. (Else it's the
first thing virus writers would do).

It's the sort of thing we are going to have to get used to as software
vendors look down things from attack
