AHHHH! Any attempt to edit code crashes Access

I had to "switch apps" to another access database, and upon returning to my
main application I can no longer edit the code! Every time I try -- no matter
what way I try to get to the code -- Access exits and pops up one of those
generic error dialogs offering to rebuild the stack.

No, rebuilding does not help.

Any ideas?
