I was having a problem with my programs locking up when I
would enter data so I reinstalled XP Pro. After
installation, when I go into Outlook to try and click on a
hyperlink I get an error, "This operation has been
cancelled due to restrictions in effect due to
restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact
your system administrator" I also get this same error
when I try to got to IE, Tools, Internet Options. I have
installed all updates and service packs for the OS and for
IE. I search the knowledge base and couldn't find any
info for XP or IE, but did find this error under Win2K.
It said "This issue may occur if there is a Group Policy
object (GPO) that restricts what programs you can run."
There is also one in MS Outlook which recommend importing
a registry key from another computer. I tried this, but
it had no effect. Doe anyone have any ideas how to fix
this?
Thanks!!!
