After printing 50 of a doc- automatically have printer go back to

Is there a way to set this- no matter what printer I use if I had printed 50
of a document, the next document I print, prints 50- yes i know pay attention
to the print dialog.....but so far in this lifetime that only works about 10%
of the time and usually right after I have printed 50 of a page I only needed
one of
I am pretty sure it is a word 'choice' since it does not repeat in excel
this way or other programs I use

This is not the way Word works by default, so the problem is outside Word.

This is a problem I have encountered at several different companies using
several different brands and types of printers. Is there a solution? When I
have questioned others, including IT departments, I have always gotten the
same answer- it is the way word works....

All I can say is, I've never seen it in any version of Word on any printer
I've owned. I've had (almost) every version since Word 2.0, and I've used
printers that included an Epson dot matrix, two HP LaserJets, and two or
three HP DeskJets. Admittedly, my printer experience has been pretty much
limited to HP, and all have been local (not networked), so there may be
other issues involved, but I would be inclined to see if there is some
errant setting in the Printer Properties or a FilePrint or FilePrintDefault
macro that is intercepting the way Word works because it is definitely
supposed to reset to 1 after every job.
