After installing XP pro loose sound

I just installed windows XP Pro in a Compac Presario Lap top and no longer
have sound. Any body else out there have this problem.

Check your Volume control and make sure none are muted and all are up.

Also under Advanced, check "Digital output only"
Change the setting.

Otherwise go to the website of your sound card/computer manufacturer
and get the latest Windows XP drivers.
