After examine message in Outbox, can't send it.

This has happened on two PCs running WINXP PRO and M/S Office basic. After
creating a new message, I clicked on SEND and the message moved to the
OUTBOX. I then clicked on the message in OUTBOX and examined it. I then
clicked send, then send/receive. The message did not change to italicized nor
would it transfer to the SEND Folder. I have done this for years in older
versions of M/S OUTLOOK, so I know it should work. The Help in OUTLOOK also
says it should work.

Thanks for any help on this.

Try switching from the Outbox to your Inbox before you click Send on the
open message. Don't go back to the Outbox until after you click
Send/Receive.

I can't see a "SEND" option in the INBOX. Switching back and forth to INBOX
and OUTBOX does not help.
Something that may be another piece to this puzzle is that I share the same
..PST file on all three of my current PCs. Of course I can only do Email on
one PC at a time. However, I have been doing this with two PCs both using
OFFICE XP and The previous version before that. When I bought the new PC, I
moved the .PST file to the new PC which is running OFFICE 2003. When using
the new PC(OUTLOOK 2003) to send a message then examine it, it will not let
me resend successfully. But when I examine the message in OUTLOOK 2003 then
exit OUTLOOK, then use one of the other PCs to resend the message, it works
as it always has.

The Send button is in the message, not the Inbox. These are the steps to
try:

1) Go to Outbox.
2) Open item from Outbox for review.
3) Go to Inbox.
4) Return to open item.
5) Review and click Send.
6) Click Send/Receive.

Thank you very much. That works perfectly!

I wonder why I couldn't figure that out on my own.
Seriously, do you know of any way to get MICROSOFT to fix this so it works
like it has for so many years in the past? The OUTLOOK help documentation
even says it should still work as in the past.

Thanks again,

Hal

It may not be an Outlook problem, per se. We MVPs have seen it most
frequently when a third-party add-in is loaded in Outlook, which means it's
the add-in causing the problem. If you want to get Microsoft's attention on
it, file a no-charge support incident through their support site.

Thanks again. This is the second PC I have set up in the last month or so
that has the same problem. I did not install any add-ins. The setup is as it
arrived from DELL. I will try your suggestion and contact M/S.

Thanks again for all your help.
