After a crash

My computer "crashed" and I had to completely reload both Windows XP and
Office 2003. Since then I have been unable to access "Stand By" or
"Hibernate" when I attempt to shut down.
In Office Express I can create a group of contacts, but can't access to
add to an email as I could before.
One other anomaly is that I cannot scroll smoothly. It is like it is on a
ratchet.
Any suggestions?

How did you find this newsgroup? Just do the same thing, only look for
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general
