I need to find an affordable graphics editing software that will work well
with Vista...something with cloning tools, hue/tone adjustments, all kinds of
things...to work creatively not only with photos, but to construct graphics.
I was using Micrografx 8 with XP SP2 and it worked well...with this new
computer I have now with Vista on it, it won't work at all...and Micrografx
is no longer being produced. Anyone have a clue on a comparable program
around $100 or so?

If it is mainly photos, then Paint.Net works fine with Vista and was rated
one of the top programs by a lot of magazines.

AND it's free!!

You probably don't want to get hooked up with gimp. It's part of the
OpenSource community and not as robust as the products you pay for.

Do a search on gimp problems in GOOGLE.

I have no more problems with Gimp than I do with software I have paid for.
As for goggling Gimp for problems.... Emmm... that might show up an awful
lot of problems that are not necessarily for gimp the image package, but
gimp the.................. :)

================================
MS Digital Image Suite Anniversary Edition
is optimized for Vista. This line has been
discontinued but some retailers still have it
in stock.

There's a 60 day trial version available for
download if you would like to give it a try:

Microsoft Digital Image
Starter Edition 2006
http://tinyurl.com/28loxr
(this product line has been
discontinued but you can still
down-load the Starter Version
and run it for 60 days)

Unlike the retail version...the trial does not
have the ability to create VCDs and it does
not include the clipart and pre-formatted
projects.

If someone is going to use a graphics editing program they can distinguish
between what is relevant and what isn't while sifting through GOOGLE. I
have found that OpenSource software usually isn't up to professional
standards. Yes, I have tried OpenOffice. Even though it's free, I would
rather use Microsoft Office.

Do a search on gimp problems in GOOGLE.

Gesh what a dork!

Do a search on Vista problems in GOOGLE mr dork.

Results 1 - 10 of about 59,800,000 for Vista problems

Results 1 - 10 of about 2,010,000 for Gimp problems

You sure are a retard. You even say that over 2,000,000 problems show up
for Gimp. You need to place your head back in your A$$ and remove your
hands from the keyboard. Just FYI.

Try GIMP - free.

IMHO - every bit as robust as the products you pay for, possibly more so.
Been using it for years on several platforms and never had a problem. Lots
of plug-ins to do specialized tasks such as B&W coversion, separations,
panoramas, etc.

At least it won't cost a nickel to find out if it meets the OP's needs.

You musta missed the first few posts. Gimp was already talked about. Just
FYI.

So predictable..

Results 1-10 of about 112,000 for "paint shop pro X problems". A
popular graphics program not an OS.

Why would anyone with any sense want to compare the number of problems in a
picture editing package with those in an OS?
