just need advise on why i cant get aero happening. i have a toshiba notebook
running vista home premium with 1gig ram, intel centrino dual core cpu T250
1.86ghz , 32 bit os, mobile intel 945GM Express Chipset family. i have
aero theme on. base score is 3.1

I had a problem getting Aero to work after installing a new video card
driver release. It had me stumped until I switched my desktop color depth to
32-bit color. Then Aero worked just fine. Appearently when I installed the
new video driver, while I set the screen resolution back to what it was
before the new driver, I failed to set the color depth back to 32-bit as
well. After the new driver install the color depth had defaulted to 16-bit
color.
Check to make sure that your desktop color depth is set for 32-bit. Good
luck...

I have a P205-6267 Toshiba lappie and had to upgrade my video drivers to get
AERO to
work properly. It has the same chipset as yours.

Select either of these links - select Model - Downloads. Check your Video
Driver in
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - Right Click on Adapter -
Properties.
If a new one read the instructions, download and install. Remember to
reboot. Then select
Windows Aero and other display properties.

Your video card isn't being recognised by the Operating System as
being suitable for running Aero, you can over ride this by...
Right click 'computer' icon
Click 'properties'
Click 'windows experience index' (blue hyperlink)
Under tasks click 'adjust visual effects'
Select radio button "adjust for best appearance'
Confirm the settings.

Bobs your uncle you now have aero / flip 3D and all the other good
stuff.
Hope this helps.
