advice on suitable AV software on an old pc

Hi

Which AV software would you advise me for an 'old' Pentium II 266 MHz with
64 megs of RAM, running Win98SE? Perhaps it's relevant to mention that
this pc is hooked to a broadband internet connection, so adequate and
up-to-date AV protection is required, although I don't want my system
resources completely clogged. Which to choose from Avast, eTrust, F-Prot,
Kaspersky, Panda, PC-Cillin, or maybe some other one?

Thanks a lot!

F-Prot for Windows. But take a look at my web site for ideas.
Depending on your knowledge and situation, you can do away with such
annoying underfootware as realtime av. If not, I'd suggest upgrading
your PC a bit since you can get a much more powerful one for peanuts.
You could then consider the use of KAV or F-Secure.

What makes F-Prot more suitable for a configuration like this than others?

I will, thanks.

I realise that, but actually it's not my pc, it's my friend's. Hadn't
mentioned that. Doesn't really matter though, except to know that
hardware upgrade is out of the question and not in my hands.
