advanced registry question

Still trying to repair an XP home install. Got some HP assistance, they
suggested I install my xp pro, I did and now have access to the disk.

But the xp home install is what I want to fix, after installing sp2 it wont
boot

the Microsoft fix says to edit the registry and take out the sp2.

Advanced question, how can I get to the original xp home, which I left in
the folder Windows, from this xp pro? I called it windowa

will regedit work for either one? how to delete the entries for sp2 to make
the other bootable xp (which just shuts off) work?

thanks

Right but I followed the instructions, both are xp, so Im assuming a very
advanced installer, and at bootup, it lets you choose which OS to boot into

I tried to find the registry, I dont even know what its called or where it
is, but assumed system32.

It may share the program files folder with both, but they dont run at the
same time

Apparently I only need to UNDO the sp2 install on the other xp home install,
but dont know how to force regedit or regedit32 to use the registry of the
other install.

If its not a secret Id like to find out the name of the registry file so I
can apply the MSDN fix for the c0000135 error

No, you installed two versions of the OS to the same partition. The original OS would never work right, since it is trying to share
folders like "Program Files" with the new install.
