Advanced Filter

I have a spreadsheet that has a list of sites and names of people at each
site. The site name is repeated many times if there is more than one person
listed at the site. I want to extract just the site name once so I can do a
count of how many sites there are. Would I use the advanced filter and if so
how would I set that up. I am using Excel 2003.
