advance filter query

hi,

i have a query on advanced filters. i downloaded some xl files fro
debra's site in order to learn more about them.

in almost all of the examples, the database is on one sheet, and th
filter results are shown on another sheet.

when i tried to manual create advanced filters, and provide the result
on another sheet, i got an error "you can only copy filtered data t
the active sheet".

what gives?

then i tried to tweak the macro and provide a new sheet and range t
paste the data. now i got a run time error '1004' "extract range has
missing or illegal filename".

in one of the files called 'productslistchart.xls', there are 4 column
in the database region, whereas the output as only 2 columns. for th
life of me, i could not figure out how to reproduce this.

i shall be a sucker for any succour ...

To extract values to a sheet B from another container sheet A using advanced
filter the trick consists of starting from the sheet B.

To extract specific columns only, type those headings in the extract
heading range, or link to the headings in the main table
