Advance Filter Problem

Freshman

Dear experts,

Sometimes when I used advance filter feature, I got a problem. The problem
was, when I copied the filtered data, said 10 records, then I pasted it
somewhere. I found there were less than 10 non-consecutive records pasted.
Some records haven't been pasted. I tried again many times and the results
were the same. What's wrong I have done? Please kindly advise.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

What version of Excel are you using? In general when you copy from a
filtered range Excel only copies visible cells. Also, if you paste the data
on rows to the right of the filter, you won't see all the records because
some of the rows are hidden if the filter is on - turn off the filter.

Hi Freshman

You can get wrong results if you have duplicate headers but I
not see that it copy less records

Hi,

This may happen if you are pasting over a range which has hidden rows
because of a filter running. For e.g. suppose you have filtered A3:G56
based on some criteria due to which some rows are hidden. Now if you copy
the filtered data and paste it anywhere between rows 3:56 of any column
(from H onwards), then all the data would not be copied.

In other words, please ensure that you are pasting over a set of rows which
has not been filtered. So in the above example, paste your filtered data
after row 56.
