ADSL with NAT

Mandi

Hi all,
I have an ADSL connection from my ISP.
If I test in a dos box my IP with ipconfig the outcome is different from my
public IP address given by MyIpAddress.com(Pinging to both addresses from my
PC works fine).

Does that mean that I'm working behind a NAT?

Could that be a UPNP NAT or this is feature is only available in home
networks routers?

Thanks for any reference

Mandi,

How is your computer connected to your Internet service? Make and model of each
piece of network equipment is useful here.

It's likely that you have a router doing NAT, or your ISP could be selling you
NATted service, as opposed to routed service.

UPnP is a separate product, which is not a flavour of NAT. UPnP is used on some
NAT routers, with UPnP compatible applications like IM.
