ADPREP : Schema update failed in recalculating validation cache

Hello,

I Must add a 2K3 R2 controller in a 2K Active Directory environnement
(Without Exchange, my client use Lotus Notes :-(

As Usal, I used the Enterprise Admin Account (Which is Enterprise Admin and
Schema Admin)

On the Schema master (W2K SP4), I run d:\cmpnents\R2\ADPREP\ADPREP.EXE
/FORESTPREP

Then the SCH15, 16, 17.LDF applied and I got this error on line 1 of
SCH18.LDF :
"Schema update failed in recalculating validation cache"

Error code seems to be 8396 for this message.

I found about 10 post on forums with the same problem but there is no
answer. (Except to Bypass modifications on SCH18.LDF, but this don't sound
like a solution).

Do you know this problem ?

Going from Win 2k to Win 2k3 R2 would require adprep to be ran from the
first CD of the R2 set to prepare the domain\forest for Win 2k3 and you
would run adprep from the second CD of the R2 set to prepare the domain for
the R2 features.

A friend of mine said me that he already use this migrationpath (2K to 2K3
R2) without problems.

But now, it's too late. I'd ried to use ADPREP of the first CD, but now, I'm
getting the same error.

Use Disk2 of R2 for your Forest (Schema) adprep. Disk 1 is for the domain
prep

I have this error when I'm doing the ADPREP /FORESTPREP.
With Disk 1 or disk 2.
The schema upddate for /forestprep failed on sch18.ldf and now, I can't
modify this.

How to continue the Upgrade ?

Yeah, the previous post didn't appear to be the normal issue related to
this, but I wanted to validate that you understood which disk to use for
which. I haven't seen this error before.

Is this user also a member of the domain admins account?
