acrobat reader is a viewer for PDFsWhat do you mean 'hidden', I had no problem finding it and on my other
machine, I simply got a notice from Adobe telling me about it and providing
a link to update.
The last thing Adobe wants to do is 'hide' their reader freebie.

Now when you go to download acrobat they let you download a downloader
exe...

its a ~ 500 k program that starts the rest of the download.

Some people do not want to do it this way and want the STANDALONE version,
that they can later burn on a cd and install on any computer without an
internet connection.

sure, I was the first to tell people here about the foxit reader 2.0 beta
.....

however there are some things acrobat does better

An example is bad rendering of non english characters in foxit, while in
acrobat they were displayed correctly
