Hi

To make this short. An employee has left our company and I need to give
myself admin rights and privileges on a xp client machine with sp2. I'm
able to access the regedit file but not the controlpanel ->
useraccounts.

I need some help. Thanks in advance

You have to be able to log in as an admin account in order to make changes
like that. You can't log in as a limited user and grant yourself admin
privileges. Do you know the credentials to log in as an administrator? Any
administrator? The built-in administrator?

If not,
