Administrator rights

Although I am the only account on the system and I am an
administrator, when I download & try to install an update
to Serious Magic Visual Communicator, I get a message
saying I don't have the rights to make the changes to the
system and I should log on as an administrator.

Serious Magic has been unable to help.

Have you done anything with folder permissions?

Logon in safemode as the actual administrator.
Then run the update.
