Administrator "head space"

....been lookin' but don't find my exact problem...
New user with XP Pro and have been logging in as just Administrator (with no
password and no Users set up) for the last 4+ months on a new computer.
Upgrading to Norton Firewall 2006 (or SystemWorks) the other day, some
program started generating screens that said I "hadn't set up user accounts"
(with dire warning that I was suceptable to trojans, etc.), so yesterday I
set up myself as a user account (with a password and admin priviledges), not
knowing (never suspecting) that the basic Administrator profile would then
simply "go away." (I said I was a new user!) So, my situation: I can reset
up the new (my name) profile and get my nice pictures on my desktop
again...but is there anywhere I can go to pull out and import (into this new
profile) my past several month's of e-mails (and contacts) - using Outlook
2000 - and my IE favorites from when I was logging on just using
Administrator?

(Double ALT-CTRL-DEL at the login just seems to get me into my new username
(with the admin priviledges) not the old Administrator profile. I have tried
entering Adminstrator with no P/W...and also Adminstrator using my new
Username password...nothing works but the new Username and password.)

With Windows Explorer, I can see the favorites, for example, in the
Administrator folder. All my music (iTunes and CD transfers) and pictures
(lots) are apparently there, too. A search, though, and I don't seem to find
the .pst Outlook file of the Adminstrator. ??? TIA for a fix to this
problem, or a link to some MS help file to get me out of this predicament and
my files returned.

Kick Norton...

Anyhow look for:

C:\Documents and Settings\<name>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst

Hidden files...

You'll also need to take ownership and treat it like a corrupt profile (same
fix) normally:

Corrupt Profile:
http://kgiii.info/windows/XP/general/corrupt_profile.html

That *should* take care of it for you unless I'm missing something. Moving
the new PST back might be an interesting problem so when you do get it make
sure to go ahead and DOUBLE check with the Outlook experts as to how to
MERGE it (not simply move it in) with your current PST.

You are a gentleman. Looks like a weekend project for me. ;-)

If I owned this program, there'd be simple warnings explaining things like
this - where you can only go one way. There is no good reason to need
esoteric or arcane knowledge to operate in systems like this. I appreciate,
however, that my betters in these regards are kind enough to assist me.

Betters? Nope. Most of us have just broken it more often and now know how to
fix it. ;)
