Administrative accounts in Documents & Settings

Hello. Here's hoping you can help me. Noticed
that I have many odd accounts showing in my
Documents and Settings folder. Don't know
where most of them come from. I'd like to
get rid of the extraneous accounts biut am unsure
as to whether doing so would negatively affect
my PC.

Built my PC from parts three years ago. It's a
1.6 GHz CPU with 1 GB of RAM, competent
ASUS P4B266C motherboard, and 80 and
60 GB HDs. Have internet connection via
internet cable connection. Also have 19" Samsung
monitor, Epson CX4600 printer, and slide
scanner. Graphics card is Nvidia GForce3 TI-200
with 64 MB of RAM. Am running XP Home SP2.
Any other data you need, just ask. Thanks.

Had problems installing my Windows XP Home
operating system when I first built the PC
because the mobo was bad. Reformatted C drive
and tried to install the operating system so perhaps
that's where the extra "accounts?" come from. The
dealer gave me a new mobo and I installed it Called
the second board "Sunshine" because it worked fine.
I use one only account: Joe.

For some reasons, my programs ended up in the
Programs folder of the All Users-Windows administrative
folder instead of in my Joe folder's Programs folder.

Here's list of all the administrative sub-folders
in my Documents & Settings folder:

Administrator
Administrator-Joseph
All Users
All Users-Windows
Default User
Default User-Windows
Joe
Joe-SUNSHINE
Local Service
Local service.NT Authority
Local Service.NT Authority.000
Network Service
Network Service.NT Authority
Network Service.NT Authority.000

Which ones are safe to delete? Can I
just drag the dieted folders to the trash?
Is that the safe way to do it?

Thats strange how or where all of them accounts have come from, Did you
reinstall after the new motherboard was installed? If it was the exact same
board you will be ok but if not its recommended that you reinstall everything!

But if its ok you should delete the following accounts by going into your
control panel then accounts.

Administrator-Joseph
All Users
All Users-Windows
Default User
Default User-Windows
Joe-SUNSHINE
Local Service
Local service.NT Authority
Local Service.NT Authority.000
Network Service
Network Service.NT Authority
Network Service.NT Authority.000

If they are not in the accounts, you can just delete them from the Documents
and settings.

The only accounts in Control Panel > Users
are Joe and Guest.

Thought I reformatted the C drive and reinstalled
a clean OS but, being very frustrated and confused
at the time, I may have actually updated the existing
XP Home OS on C after installing the replacement
motherboard. Can't be sure three years later. Was
totally stressed out at the time, not having ever having
built a PC before, or having coped with a failed
motherboard before.

I'd almost bet money that I reformatted C and
ran a clean install using the System Builder's OEM
disc provided by the PC parts dealer. The system
runs smoothly, and has been updated by SP1 and SP2.

Am apprehensive about just deleting all these accounts
out of the Documents and Settings folder, because
All Users-Windows contains all the programs that
show in the Startup > Programs list. Don't have a
clue what the local and network services folders
are all about.

if they are not in the user accounts section then you will be fine to delete
the ones i said in my previous one!

One thing you could do if they will fit copy them all onto cd then if its
start moaning you can put them back! But it should be fine!
