OK - New laptop and new operating system. Be patient please.

I have logged myself in as "Owner". Evidently it IS an administrator
position, so there is no issue there [hopefully].

The issue is, that in trying to update some programs or perform some tasks,
I get an intercept that tells me that I have to have "administrator
permission to perform that task".

It's probably something very simple that I'm missing, but can't seem to cure
it - Any suggestions?

also a member of Administrators group is now a bit limited. You will have to
confirm administrative tasks, and even in this case you may not succeed
sometimes with applications.

In the most cases may help a right click on the application and select Run
as Administrator from the context menu.
Best greetings from Germany
