Admin account does not have administrator privileges??

When I boot my machine, i get into the XP Home Edition welcome screen without
any accounts being shown. I have to press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice to logon but my
account has been given only guest privileges. I am the only user and should
be administrator.

I tried login on using safe mode as the administrator and this account also
has only guest privileges. Any help or ideas??

Thanks

In Carlos <[email protected]> had this to say:

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

Well, chances are you didn't change it or you'd not be asking about it. This
is, of course, my logic... No worries, it's often faulty. Anyhow, I suspect
malware of some type. Virus, spyware, trojan, or any type of malware... I'd
scan for viruses and malware with the latest definitions in safe mode. If
something's found I'd disable system restore and delete the found objects.
