ADDUSERS.EXE to create first name, last name?

Joe Murphy

According to http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=199878 you can create users
in ADDUSERS.exe with the following attributes User Name,Full name, Password,
Description, HomeDrive, Homepath, Profile, Script

Are these the only attributes you can change on creation of accounts? I'd
like to also create First Name and Last Name among other things. Is
ADDUSERS.exe limited to these eight attributes?

Thanks,
JM

Joe,

Brendon has a good point. However, for those of us who can not script that
might be a bit of a challenge. Granted, there are plenty of sample
scripts.....

Another choice is to use ADDUSERS to create the initial account ( one of the
advantages to ADDUSERS is that you can stipulate the user's password ) and
then follow that with ADModify to update many of the 'blank' fields. Yet
another option is ldifde, but that is a bit more involved than ADModify.

You can download ADModify from the following location:

ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/PSS/Tools/Exchange%20Support%20Tools/ADModify/

I would take a look at ldifde as there is a lot that you can do with it. It
is a very useful tool for those of us who have not yet mastered the art of
scripting ( which would be the best solution, typically ).

HTH,

Cary
