I cannot send e-mail in Outlook. When I try to "Forward" or send mail... the
"Select Name" box appears and at that point everything "freezes". I have to
Control>Alt>Delete to back out of the freeze.

..I cannot Send anything but I can Receive.

I am using XP and Norton Systemworks. The problem existed priorto
installing Norton. Disabeling features does not change the problem.

try disabling your Contacts folder as an Outlook address book and restart
Outlook. See if then adding it back helps. If not, try a new Contacts folder
and test to see if enabling that as an address book helps.

Thanks for your answer...
Could you tell me how to disable Contacts.
Everything works fine in Express but the Contacts in Outlook locks up
everytime. I can "type" the e-mail address and it will send the mail fine. I
have uninstalled and reinstalled from the disc with no change.

View your folder list. right click on the contacts folder, select
Properties, in the Outlook Address Book tab uncheck "show this folder as an
email Address Book".
then, Tools | email accounts .... View or change existing directories or
address books ... Next .. remove the Outlook Address Book. Restart Outlook
and see if reversing the above helps .... add the Outlook Address Book then
add the Contacts folder as an address book if it isn't already added.

I have exactly the same problem...were you able to find a solution? I have
checked everything I know how to check and can find no reason for this sudden
problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
RD
