Addressbooks won't die...?

K

Kenneth

Howdy,

I run OL 2002.

Because I was having some difficulty accessing my
addressbook (Contacts) because, in the Send dropdown, it was
appearing twice, I decided to delete them, and re-enter it
one time. ('Seems simple enough, huh?)

I went to Tools | Addressbook | Tools | Options, and saw
that Contacts appeared there twice as I expected.

I deleted both, exited Outlook, and re-launched.

Then, to my surprise, both of the Contacts listings were
back when I looked for them.

Why would deleting them not "stick" and what can I do about
that?

Sincere thanks,

R

Because that's not where you delete them. That's the first place people
would look to delete outdated references to Contacts Folders. That would be
too easy. This is Outlook. It's not supposed to be easy.
Instead, delete them from the last place you would look:
Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change.
