Just curious....I imported my OE4 addressbook to Outlook 2000 which I use
for mail. It seems that those addresses were also imported to OE6 which I
use as a newsreader. When I make changes to my Outlook 2000 addressbook, I
do not see them changed in my OE6 addressbook. Should they be synched some
how?

Do you have this Registry key?...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
\Software
\Microsoft
\WAB
\WAB4

If not, STOP; If so, is there a DWORD named UseOutlook and is its value set
to 1 (one)?

If so, Address Book is configured to share contacts with Outlook. (If that
DWORD is not present, don't create it, and don't alter any other DWORD
values.)

If you change that DWORD value to 0 (zero), sharing will be disabled. Note
that any changes (additions, deletions, edits) made while sharing was
enabled will not be available (displayed) in Address Book when sharing is
disabled.

With sharing enabled, OL Contacts and Address Book are, in a way, synched
but, in Address Book, you won't see any changes made to Groups or Folders in
OL Contacts.

For best performance and reliability, instead of opening a separate instance
of OE to access newsgroups you should be using the Outlook Newsreader (yes,
it's a poorly disguised OE) which is accessed via OL View>Go to>News.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I've been accessing newsgroups via OL Views/Go to/News. Which is OE6.

Yes but no. It's the Outlook Newsreader, as Outlook is your default Mail
Client, and, as such, you should simply ignore (OE/Windows) Address Book.
Even if you Forward a newsgroup message or Reply to a poster (not Reply
Group), you will be using Outlook and Outlook Contacts.[/QUOTE]
