Address Book

I want to copy my address book to a floppy so I can transfer it to another
computer.
(Sorry, I don't have a CD burner on this old klunker.)

What file should I copy?
Is it okay to simply copy the wab.exe file and nothing else?

(The problem is that I haven't gotten my new computer yet, so I can't just
copy and try it and see if it works.)
(But I want to get as much as possible copied on removable media before my
shaky, problematic old computer dies.)

Outlook's address book is not kept in a separate file. The address book is
a view of your Contacts folder which is kept in the same file as your
Calendar, Inbox, Sent Items, and any other mail folder you've defined in
your Personal Folders file.

WAB.EXE is not an address book. It is the program that allows you to
manipulate the Windows Address Book (.wab) files you may have on your PC.
Outlook doesn't use it.

Both Outlook express and Outlook provide for exporting addresses through he
Import and Export option selected from File menu. For Outlook express select
"comma separated values - Windows" - for Outlook "access" or "Excel" are
also optional choices- also if using Outlook select "Contacts" folder as
source. - just follow directions - should be no problem.

Aha! I got it.

So when I do an export of my "Personal Folders.pst" (including subfolders),
then "Contacts" is automatically included.
Great. Thanks.
Should have known that, but didn't make the connection.

Never export to a PST. There's no need and you lose information.
