I had a problem sending mail from Outlook 2002. I installed the Office SP 3,
but still had to reinstall Office with Outlook.
I saved a backup of my outlook.pst file but I didnt save the address book,
unless it is in the .pst file.
At any rate the address book that outlook is using isnt mine. Did i replace
my address book when i reinstalled?
Anyway to get my old address book back, what is the file called? I may have
it backed up on cd someplace....thanks for the help tom

It is. Contacts folder

You misunderstand.
There is no address book. It does not exist separately.
Your Contacts Folder is in your PST file just like all your other Outlook
Data.

Thats what I was hoping, but I have my contacts. I have the backup I created
of my outlook.pst file and I have it in the proper folder. All my old
emails, folders, and my contacts are displayed in Outlook, but when i try to
open the address book to send an email I get this
message.................."The address list could not be displayed. The
Contacts folder
associated with this address list could not be opened: it may have been
moved or deleted, or you do not have permissions. For information on how to
remove this folder from the outlook Address Book, see Microsoft Help."
I went to the properties of the Contacts folder, went to the Outlook Address
Book. I checked the box that says :Show this folder as Email Address Book"
However when i try to go to the address book i still get the
message.........................."The address list could not be displayed.
The Contacts folder
associated with this address list could not be opened.........
I can still see the contacts in the contact folder, so maybe worst case
scenerio, I should re-enter the names into the address book. I dont
understand why all the .pst info is there, just not my address book info.
Thanks for any and all help.
