Address Book or Microsoft Outlook?

Which is best to use to store Contacts? In IE, Options, Programs you can
choose either to use as default Address Book. Does it make any difference
which I use and will it affect backups, import/export etc.. in Outlook? Is
one a smaller file than the other? I am using IE7 and Outlook 2000. Thanks.

The IE option will use whatever you have selected for your default address book. IE has no address book. You can designate Outlook or Outlook Express (Windows Address Book) as your default Address Book in IE's Tools->Options->Programs tab and that will be what gets called when you select your address book.

If you are using OL for mail it would seem logical to use OL Contacts.
Then all data is stored in the *.pst file (OL data file)
You dont use Import/Export for native OL data files, with OL closed you
simply copy the *.pst

Thanks , all good info, but I should rephrase. I se from your answer one
benefit of using OL to store addresses is that it is stored in the .pst
file. Will it make any other functional differences which method I use to
store my addresses? and if I use Address book, it is then stored in a .wab
file I have to backup separately?
Thanx,

If you use the Windows Address Book then, yes, the data is stored in the WAB
file. By default, I think OL 2000 in Internet Mail Only mode also uses the
WAB.
