Cool thanks! I wonder if this 3rd party program now is going to cost me.
but on the flip side it's good to have these addresses archived, you
never know if they'll be needed!
Aiandas!
The whole reason the feature exists is because so many users asked for
it. I suspect that's why it is turned on by default.
There is a 3rd party program that can view and edit the .NK2 file. You
can also use it to backup and restore the NK2 file and and to create
Contact Records from your NK2 data. You can read more about it here:

Complicated bugger isn't it?
Why is that it's tuned on by default? Shouldn't this be something that
should be turned on by the user only? Or is it so cumbersome to turn it
on, that's it's on by default for that reason?
Is it still possible after the fact to get access to these names?
Can I save this autocompletion cache address book?
Follow the instructions here:

OK, how do I get to this section?
In your Autocompletion cache. It's a file with an NK2 extension that
matches the name of your Outlook profile. Turn off the feature if
you don't want it.

I have Outlook 2003 in XP. I have something like 20 names in my
address book, yet when I write and search for a name it shows ALL
THE NAMES that I have ever had corresponded with, yet they do not
show up in my address book. Where the heck are all these names
stored anyway??????
