Hi I have just switched from OE to outlook 2003. Everything works fine
except when I go to the address book, not contacts but the little
book, and I go to the "show names from the"
personal address book
outlook address book
contacts
If i click on either of these outlook crashes and gives me a
user32.dll error then restarts.
Any ideas why.
I tried running SCANPST.EXE errors were found in my .pst file but
didn't help.
Thanks in advance

You left out a lot of information. Why is the Personal Address Book in
there? Outlook hasn't used it for years.
Provide enough information so we can help.

First, remove the Personal Address Book service from your mail profile. OL
2003 doesn't use it. You should see

Outlook Address Book
Contacts

When you choose "Contacts", you should see the addresses in your Contacts
folder. Click Tools>Options (in the Address Book). What does the
Addressing tab say?
I tried running SCANPST.EXE errors were found in my .pst file but
didn't help.

Run scanpst again until it reports no errors.

Ok removed personal folder and if I switch from
Outlook Address Book
Contacts
It still crashes. I ran SCANPST.EXE and no error were reported.

Have you tried creating a new mail profile?

You used Control Panel's Mail applet to do this? I'm asking because some
people think making a new profile means creating a new account. I just want
to make sure I was clear.

Yes I did. I deleted the old one called outlook and created a new
called Sal.
I also noticed it crashes if I open open a contact and go to
activities, then if I go to show and try to change the show item, the
same type of crash occurs. It.s like it doesn't like to change views
at some places, but others work fine.
