address bar

I need to know how addresses get into the address bar drop
down menu. I have several entries that show up as google
searches and no one in my house admits to keying these
in. The following is an example:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-
8&q=biggest+boobs

Is there ANY other way for entries to get into this drop
down menu without someone in my house keying them in?

Also, how long do these entries stay in the drop down menu?

Thanks, Sandy

The answer is yes and no.

Generally there would be no easy way to do it without it being entered into
the browser somehow BUT it could have been simply someone hitting a link....
for example if your link had not broken I could have accidentally hit it and
that URL would end up as being one of my "Visited links". As it happens I
reconstructed it and I am just recovering links from the browser and yep,
here it is, cut and pasted back.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF8&q=biggest+boobs

Now, I can't do it here without using HTML but on a web page that link could
be called anything yet would leave the actual URL in the browser, so it's
presence in the history does NOT prove that the person who hit it actually
knew what it led to. In other words that link might have looked like any
legitimate link but actually point to somewhere else. Porn distributors are
pretty clever, although I can't see why anyone would link this way to a
google search.

You might want to just keep an eye on things and post back if it happens
again, it might be some sort of parasite or virus type thing. See if anyone
else comes up with ideas.
