address bar

my "address bar" is "clicked on" but does not show up on
the Yahoo webpage (default home page), i.e. I have no URL
page to see web pages.
I have gone to View - Toolbars - and selected Address Bar.
It does not seem to work. How can I get Address Bar to
show as a URL??
