Adding XP Pro to a home network

Previously, I had an XP Home computer and a mobile XP Pro computer that I
bring back and forth to work. I am logged into a domain at work, but I had
configured a workgroup at home that allowed me to access a printer that was
connected to the XP Home computer.
Now, I have just purchased a new XP Pro computer to replace the XP Home
computer, but I can't seem to get it connected through a home network to my
mobile XP Pro computer.
I have disabled the Windows Firewall and enabled File sharing (with at least
two shared folders).
When I try to set up a new workgroup on the new XP Pro computer it appears
on network to the mobile XP Pro computer, but without the new XP Pro
computer. From the XP Pro computer it says that it doesn't have access to the
new workgroup.
