My hard drive crashed and I had to reinstall Outlook. Previously I had
Outlook set up so that when I was reading email I could click the mouse in
the subject line of received emails and it would allow me to type in
additional information. I used this feature in a number of ways. However, I
can't remember what I did to set Outlook to allow this. If anyone could
provide this information I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

You should still be able to do that. Open the email, edit the subject and
close it, and say yes to saving it when prompted.

Thanks for the suggestion. This is what I am doing currently, but it adds
the extra steps of opening the email, closing the email, and then clicking
on "OK" to save the changes. The other way I used to do this simply allowed
me to click in the subject header of a received email and start typing. When
I highlighted another email the text typed in the subject line of a previous
email was saved automatically. This is the feature I am trying to remember
how to do.
