Adding separators to quick launch

Hi,

Is there any way to add separators (divider icons) between WinXP quick
launch toolbar's icons?

(I managed doing so in Win2K but it seems impossible in XP)

Thanks,
Ronny

Hi Ronny,

No way I know of. The quicklaunch is nothing more than a toolbar created
from a folder in the users profile containing the desired icons, nothing
special about the folder itself programatically.

Just put an icon file in the Quick Launch folder.
It works just the same for me in XP as it did for Win98. (Just tried
it)
I still have a "quicklaunch.ico" that I used for that purpose. (Just a
..ico file with only an upright bar)

What did you do in Win2K that doesn't work in XP?

Simple.

1. Create an empty folder someplace on your hard drive
2. Right click on an empty spot on the Taskbar
3. Select Toolbar | New Toolbar...
4. Select the Empty folder name
5. Turn off Show Text, Show Title for new toolbar on Taskbar

Now, all that's left is a separator. If you add another Toolbar (even from
the same folder), the space is eliminated between the two and you can
expand/compress by moving the bar.
