Adding RAM DIMMS

Whenever I add this new PC2700 RAM DIMM
my sysconfigure becomes corrupt and it says it needs my XP OS install disk.


Is the RAM corrupt or is adding RAM normally not a PNP event?

Nope, nothing you have to do after adding an extra ram module.

Try the new module on it's own - may be it dislikes one of the old modules.

Unfortunately combining different makes/speeds can cause problem - even
so ideally it shouldn't.
