Adding percents to stacked bar chart

I have a stacked bar chart in powerpoint that I would like to add percent
labels to. When I click on the chart options and go to the data labels tab,
the 'percentage' box visible but it is not an option. Is there a way I can
display the percentages on this chart?

Assuming your data's already a percentage, you can use a custom number mask.
In the number tab, choose Custom category. In the Type box, type 0" %"
(that's zero, quotation mark, space, percent, quotation mark).

But I can't get the percentage option to be greyed out anywhere, so my
suggestion may not work, either, especially if you're working with something
non-standard. Hard to say.
