Adding path to footer in Excel 97

Can someone tell me please how to add the path of a
document to a custom footer in Excel. It seems such a
basic task but somehow doesn't appear to be obvious.

File|Page Setup, Click the Header/Footer Tab, Click the Custom Footer Button, Click the Folder button to the right of the clock.

This inserts &[Path]&[File] in the footer. If you want just the path and not the file name, delete &[File].
