Adding or substracting numbers

How I can Add and Substract or change numbers of a Data Base fro
another worksheet or cell....? I'm using rigth now VLOOKUP to call th
quantitys, how I can combine both functions add and substract using th
VLOOKUP?

=A1-VLOOKUP(...)
