Why won't WindowsXP load AutoCad software onto the
harddrive as an application? I have added software
programs like CorelDraw, and FrontPage without any
problems. I have the cd software for AutoCAD, but I keep
getting the message that WindowsXP does not have a device
that will recognize the software; sometimes it lists a
specific driver that it is lacking.(This is a brand new
HPPentium4 OS). The AutoCAD software cd loads perfectly
onto my other windows system which has Windows 98SE as
its operating platform. Is there an extention somewhere
that must be enabled for XP to recognize AutoCAD
programs? I'm totally confused, can you help? Thanks, Cory

This may well be a problem experienced by other AutoCAD user. Suggest
you look on their web page for FAQ or contact their support.

Post the exact error message and maybe someone can help you. I've installed
and run autocad 2000, 2002, and 2004 on XP pro just fine.
