Adding new elements to an existing "list"

Hello. I have a multi-sheet spreadsheet. One sheet contains pre-
defined "lists", which other sheets in the spreadsheet use to populate
drop-down boxes.

The problem is, I am trying to extend one of these lists to include 2
new values.

I have tried every conceivable way (select the list, and drag the
right-bottom corner to cover the 2 new entries, etc).

Even the Data --> List --> "Resize List" option is greyed out.

I suspect I have a problem with someone having previously "protected"
certain aspects of this spreadsheet.

Can someone offer advice?

Please don't multipost.
