Adding new design templates to the task pane in PP 2003

I have a number of PP oresentation design templates that I have used and
collected over the years for previous versions of PP. Even though I have
copied them to the same directory as the design tempaltes that come with PP
2003 they will not show up. The only way I can access them is work my way
through browse.
How do I add them to the design templates on the task pane?
 
Try opening them up and saving them as a template file (.pot) and see what
happens

Michael,
I just tried that and it didn't work. It just showed up as recently used.
Interestingly a number of other templates that did appear yesterday no longer
appear and I have to use the browse to find them again.
 
Have you done a Detect & Repair? Also do you have all the Service Patch
updates installed. I just tried it to make sure. I save the file as a .pot
template file, then click on new and select from templates and my file is
right on top.
