Adding Field Content to Clipboard

We found a way to have Access code copy a selection to the clipboard. What
is the method to use if you simply want to add a selection to text that is
already on the clipboard? I guess you would have to read the clipboard
first, concatenate within Access, and then copy that to the clipboard,
overwriting the old clipboard contents? So how do you read the Clipboard
from Access?

If there are commercial or third party applications or code that simplifies
this, I would appreciate the referral.
